A Petition to Arrest and Investigate Mr. Christian Johnson Assam
Mr. Christian Johnson Assam has a notoriety for trafficking children from Eket to Port Harcourt and other cities.
His report came to Child’s Right and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) Ikot Afaha, Eket, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria since February 2024 when he came and picked more than ten children to Port Harcourt.
He is often sneaking in and out and has been very illusive and avoiding security personnel. He always comes under the guise of helping children but his intention and actions are basically to traffic vulnerable children out of Eket.
He comes almost every two or three months to carry out his nefarious activities. As an organization working to protect vulnerable children, we have been monitoring him since then. We believe that he might have picked more than 30 children in the past one year.
So today my brother Mr. Orlando called me to inform me that he has come to pick some children including his own child and he has told him not to pick her. He brought out N10,000 to appease him but he rejected the offer.
I then called the DPO of Ikot Udota Division to intimate him of the sinister development and involve my staff and volunteers, including a community leader, Obong Thompson Akwaowo to facilitate Mr. Christian Johnson Assam’s arrest.
